The Township of Union Democratic Party is proud to endorse and support the re-election of Joe Florio. Joe is the veteran member of the Township Committee. His experience in all facets of local government is immensely valuable and is needed more than ever during unprecedented times, especially with COVID-19. Here is more info on Joe:

Member, Township Committee since 1997 with 4 terms as Mayor and appointments as Commissioner of Police, Fire, Department of Public Works, Recreation, and Senior Activities; also serves on the Essex/Union Joint Meeting Board that oversees operations of the waste water treatment plant for both counties

Instrumental on getting lights for our fields serving the greater demand of our youth and adults
Led efforts in funding and opening the Senior Center
Oversaw ground breaking for the Union Train Station
Successfully advocated in getting the most up-to-date equipment for our police and fire departments
Formed Mayor’s council to get a long-term regional solution to deal with flooding along the Rahway River and provide short-term flood relief to flood prone areas
